Reynolds Plantation has been dubbed as one of the “Top 25 Private Golf Community,” cited by the Luxury Golf & Travel Magazine and three of its courses are included among “America’s Best Top 100 Residential Courses” by Golfweek Magazine. What was once a sublime hunting area and a fishing retreat for the Reynolds family is now a superior setting for innovative luxury living and superb golf courses.
The golf courses include the Reynolds Landing, The National, The Plantation Course, Great Waters Golf Course and The Oconee Course. An array golf vacation packages are also available.
This 7,500-yard of layout was the first golf course built on Lake Oconee. The Scottish-style championship course was designed by Bob Cupp and was built on a hilly terrain with water features that come into play on the layout’s three holes. To come up with a more challenging round, the Reynolds Landing Course was composed of the heather-type grass, numerous mounds and the grassy hollows.
The National is a par-72; 7,015 yards layout from the back tees features two holes on the second largest lake in Georgia-the 19,000 acre Lake Oconee. Designed by Tom Fazio, this 27-hole course employs the four sets of tees including the 12-acre site for practice. Features like the dense forests of hardwoods, flowering wild dogwoods, and the pines makes The National course truly amazing.
The Plantation course is said to have its debut at Reynolds Plantation way back in 1988. The course which was created by Bob Cupp and PGA Tour professionals Fuzzy Zoeller and Hubert Green was immediately cited as one of the “Top 10 New Courses in the Country” by Golf Magazine. This 6,698-yard par-72 layout is characterized by its natural rolling topography.
This Jack Nicklaus designed course which opened in 1992 was immediately cited by GOLF Magazine. The 7,048 yards of waterfront holes and rolling hills provides a test even to the excellent golfer. Various awards including “America’s Best Residential Golf Courses” by GolfWeek Magazine has made the Great Waters Golf a stunning stretch course. The layout also hosted the 2008 PGA Professional National Championship.
This Rees Jones designed course served as the centerpiece of a new resort – the stunning 250-room Ritz-Carlton Lodge and Spa. The Oconee course features forward tees measuring less than 5,200 yards, multiple tee boxes, numerous water hazards, and drop shots from elevated tees. Lake Oconee and four other magnificent lake views come into play into the 5 holes of the layout. It hosted the 2007 PGA Cup and the Chick-Fil-A Bowl Alma Mater.
